Courageous Leaders

The mission of the Lux et Veritas Leadership Program is to develop courageous future leaders committed to advancing the principles of a free society.

The Lux et Veritas Leadership Program is a selective, one-year fellowship for Yale undergraduates who are Buckley Program Student Fellows in their junior, sophomore, and second-semester freshmen years. This program, which runs from January to December, includes a winter retreat, week-long summer program, and monthly sessions during the academic year.


Academic and Professional Training

Students will participate in seminars with top teachers, workshops with experienced practitioners, and discussions with thought leaders. Workshops will cover public speaking, debate, persuasive writing, public relations, and career development, among other topics.

Program Schedule

Winter Retreat: January 9th - 13th

Spring Semester: Meeting once a month

Summer Seminar: August 21st - 25th

Fall Semester: Meeting once a month


Student Development

Students will:​

  • Have access to a wide variety of programming, including academic seminars and skills workshops

  • Improve professional skills through participation in group contests, such as op-ed writing, speech giving, and more

  • Gain networking opportunities and learn from successful practitioners in a variety of fields 

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will receive a $1,500 stipend to cover travel and other expenses
