William F. Buckley, Jr. Program at Yale Officially Launches

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Haven, CT — The William F. Buckley, Jr. Program at Yale hosted its inaugural event yesterday in New York City with former Commentary Editor-in-Chief Norman Podhoretz. Founded by a group of Yale undergraduates under the guidance of Professor Donald Kagan, the speaker series will be holding several events on campus this semester. Upcoming guests include David Frum and Bret Stephens.

“Our mission is to promote intellectual diversity at Yale. Intellectual pluralism is an important part of a liberal arts education for students of all political stripes. Unfortunately, however, it is all too frequently absent. We hope to rectify this illiberal tendency by expanding political discourse on campus and exposing students to views that often go unvoiced,” said Founder and Executive Director, Lauren Noble ’11.

The program is named for National Review founder William F. Buckley, Jr. ’50. The next event of the speaker series, “Conservatism from William F. Buckley, Jr. to You,” will be held with David Frum on February 3rd.
