in our Nation's Capital
The Washington Fellowship is an exclusive, fully-funded opportunity for a select group of Buckley Fellows to spend a week in Washington D.C. meeting with and learning from government officials, members of Congress, judges, think tank scholars, and journalists.
For 2023, the program will run from the afternoon of Sunday, March 12th through Friday, March 17th, over Yale's Spring Break.
In previous years, our students have met with the below, among many others!
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh
Senator Ted Cruz
Mary Katherine Ham
Senator Ben Sasse
Senator Rand Paul
“This trip was one of my favorite experiences of my entire time at Yale. To go from shaking hands with not one but two sitting U.S. senators to spending two hours with Justice Kavanaugh in his chambers was awe-inspiring, and the exposure to individuals of this caliber opened my eyes to the possibilities available in Washington. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to meet with people who worked behind-the-scenes in politics and policy because they illuminated aspects of this work that I had never known and have proven useful as I try to figure out what I'd like to do after graduation.”
